Design, Build & The Install Process

$0.00

How does the process work?

Consultation; Determine what is required for your Pod build and get to know you. Converting a boat to an outboard setup is a big task.

Dimensions; If you are local bring your boat to our facility for measurements, or we can send you a PDF version to fill out.

Deposit; At this stage, we have everything we need to start designing your pod. There is a $500 USD charge for this. We contract an expert marine architect to engineer the Pod to suit your specific needs. An incorrect design could fail on the water with disastrous results.

Build; After you have approved your design we can quote the final build cost. With the green light from you, the part file is sent to the CNC router and Pod production starts. After final assembly and dry fit (if you are local) we send your Pod for marine-grade powder coating. Custom colors are an option.

Shipping; If you are local and wish to have an expert install your pod we have a few recommendations we can make. If you are located outside of the area we recommend you contact a yacht builder or fiberglass expert. We can ship your pod anywhere in the world.

Description

Our transom pods are custom designed to fit your boat and your application. Every customer has individual needs and it’s almost impossible to have an “off-the-shelf” option. Our experienced staff is happy to help you find a solution that will work best for you.

Why use a transom pod?

Outboard engines have come a long way over the years. It has now become so easy to “bolt on” reliable power with an outboard. Modern 4-stroke motors are reliable, lightweight, fuel-efficient, and powerful. Alternatively, inboard motors take up valuable space in your boat, are hard to work on, are heavy, and are difficult to install. A transom pod lets you convert your inboard-powered boat to an outboard configuration.

How does it work?

A pod is a sealed aluminum structure that mounts directly to the back of your transom. After you have removed the inboard and sealed the holes. The pod is designed to mount the outboard engines, transmit the power to the hull, and provide some flotation or ballast depending on the new center of gravity.
